- Elaphe bairdi

This is my male hypomelanistic Bairds rat, the pictures do not do him justice. The fourth picture is of his mother, so that you can compare the two phases.  He gets lighter in colour with every slough. The hatchling, number 54/97 was lighter in colour than his siblings. As the snake grew it became lighter and lighter in colour. I mated him to his mother, expecting nothing but normal Bairds, but three of the resulting hatchlings were also Hypomelanistic. I have produced 7 hypo's to date and am growing on a female. If you have anything similar please contact me, we could possibly do a swap to increase the gene pool.
